Sell your carpentry business: find the right successor
A carpentry business lives on skill, machines and customer trust. To carry on, it needs a successor who can take over all three.
The master craftsman requirement
In Germany, carpentry is a licensed trade (Annex A of the Crafts Code). The successor needs a master craftsman certificate or an equivalent qualification, or appoints a manager who has one. The local chamber of crafts advises on this.
What drives the value
Mostly owner earnings, plus what buyers in carpentry watch closely: the state of the machinery, the order book, the mix of private, commercial and contract customers, and whether the team can quote and lead installations without you.
Who takes over
Often master carpenters going into business for themselves, employees of the business, or neighbouring businesses that want to grow.
Staying confidential
Your listing shows only industry, state and ranges. A successor sees name, town and documents only once you want to meet and they've signed the NDA.
